cueVJ Studio

The playground performs the scenes I wrote. Studio lets you build your own, by hand or by describing them, then sequence and perform them live. Everything you make stays reactive by nature, drawn to the music rather than rendered in advance.

What it is

cueVJ ships with 20 scenes. They are mine: my shapes, my motion, my taste. Studio is the other half of the idea, where you compose the visuals and cueVJ just plays them.

The part that matters is what you are composing. Not a clip that gets rendered once and replayed the same way forever, but a set of rules for how shapes should behave when they hear something. Reactive by nature is the whole point: your pack responds to a room it has never played in, at a tempo nobody set in advance, and it is right every time because it is listening.

Describe it. Cue builds it.

The barrier to live visuals was never taste. It was translation: knowing which parameter to turn, in which tool, to get the thing already playing in your head. That is the part that takes weeks to learn, and the part that stops most people before they start.

Studio has an AI built in, called Cue. Tell it what you want in the words you would use with a person. Slow horizontal lines that tear apart on the kick. A grid that breathes with the bass and snaps back on every snare. Cue composes the scene, wires it to the signal bus, and hands you something reactive you can perform straight away.

Then you take over. Adjust what it built, rebind anything, or throw it away and start again. Cue is not there to have taste for you, it is there to remove the blank page and the manual, so the distance between an idea and a running scene is a sentence. Building entirely by hand is not going away.

Build a scene from primitives, wire any part of it to the signal bus so it moves with the music, collect scenes into a pack, and perform that pack the same way the playground works now. No install, no timeline to render, no export step. You open a link and play.

On the roadmap

Studio opens with composing and performing. These are the pieces coming after, in roughly the order I am building them.

Hear when it opens

Studio is in development now. Leave your email and I will tell you the day it opens, and not much else.

Want to talk before then? If you are an artist or a label after custom visuals for a set, a release, or a show, or you just want to tell me what you would build with Studio, write to ronny@cuevj.com.
